Why use native plants in the first place?

Native plants have evolved along side our state's wildlife, meaning they depend on each other for survival. Native wildlife such as bees, wasps, beetles, lizards, amphibians and birds prefer native plants for shelter and food. With rapid development and little protection around wildlife habitat, the insects and small animals that support the local food web, have less and less places to raise their young. By planting native plants, you give those species most at risk a place to live.

Native plants are adapted to North Carolina's bipolar weather and extreme heat. This means you don't have to worry about installing expensive irrigation, or spending your free time out in the heat. The plants take care of themselves

We carefully select a variety of these plants to make sure something is blooming from spring to fall. The beauty isn't only found in the flowers but also the relationship you witness between your plants and the wildlife that stop by. More than enough to make your neighbors jealous.

All the plants we use are perennial meaning they come back year after year. This is great because you don't have to keep buying annual flowers every year, that end up dying in the summer heat or in the winter freezes. They also don't take decades to reach maturity like trees or large shrubs. Instead, they come back better than the year before, being healthier and sporting more flowers.
